Hurricane Irene Project

Critical Thinking

1.What effect does water temperature have on the creation a hurricane?
The sea surface temperature must be in excess of 26°C.  The hotter the sea the stronger the Hurricane will be.

2.Why would there be more damage to an area during high tide?
Because during the high tide the tide have more powerful, the wind and the rain will be more stronger and the sea level will be rise.

3.If an area is fully saturated, how will this be more dangerous for an area?
If an area is fully saturated will be more dangerous for an area, because the area already have a lot of water, when the hriican comes where does the water go, that will bring a big flooding for an area.

4.Why would there be more flooding if the ground was fully saturated?
If the ground was fully saturated would there be more flooding, because the ground already have large amounts of water, the groundwater will go up from under ground.
Reflection:
